Marie Allen was overwhelmed at the weekend when it was annouced she had clinched the title of the PPANI Under 5's Portrait Photographer Of The Year Award. Last Weekend Sunday 8th March a lavish awards ceremony was held in the luxurious Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast. The cream of Northern Irelands Professional Photographers gathered in abundance to find out who won the highly coveted prize of Portrait Photographer of the year. This year saw the highest amount of entries ever entered in competition, being judged by some of the highest qualified judges in the UK. Marie was delighted when she heard the news that the timeless image of little Harriet Morrow age 1 now living in Hong Kong had been home to visit family in Tandragee last year. Marie's success didn't stop there, as later that night she collected 1st Runner Up as Pictorial Photographer Of The Year, with an image of her son Michee taken on holiday in Wales last year, while taking a tour at Ruthin Gaol. Marie then went on to be awarded two merit awards, for Fashion Photographer Of The Year and Storybook Photographer Of The Year.
